Espanola Animal Shelter NO HEAT!

Hi Steve:

We are in a crisis up here at the animal shelter in Espanola and we need your help immediately.
The heat and water are out in the building and we need 2 things:

1. Donation or lending of electric space heaters (all stores in the Espanola area are sold out).
2. Foster homes for the next 48 hours for cats, dogs and puppies. We can provide as many crates and litterboxes as we have here for overnights, but we have to get these babies out of here before nightfall. All animals are current on vaccination and most are already spayed or neutered.

Please call the shelter at (505) 753-8662 if you are able to help in any way and please pass this message on. (Do not call staff on cell phones, the local cell tower is out and service is limited).  Thank you for your help!

Hi Steve,

My name is Rebecca Williamson. I saw your email on the tv and just wanted to tell you what I think of Eyewittness New 4 in the morning. I love Eyewittness News 4 when I wake up because it's a local news channel and I want to know what is going on with New Mexico before I go to school. I also want to know about the weather. That's where your meteorology comes in. I like to know what happens in ABQ in terms of weather so I can brace for school. You are my favorite weatherman. The news I used to watch had a weatherman that didn't seem like I could trust him for the weather in ABQ. Well it makes sense because they filmed the show in Florida. I also like how you bring your dogs to work with you on Friday. When my Stepmom's family was in town, they saw your weather report and enjoyed seeing it.Thanks for putting on a great news report!!

Rebecca Williamson

Why It Rarely Snows in ABQ

Dear Viewers,

I'm often asked about the lack of snow in the ABQ metro. Below is my best explanation!
ss

There is a Little Known Theory of Thermo-Dynamics that I have Studied Extensively in My Pursuit of Excellence in the Knowledge of Weather Phenomena. Years Ago I Coined the Term "Dome of Silence" to Describe Why it So Rarely Snows Much in ABQ. The "D.O.S" is an Invisible, but Powerful Force Field that Scientifically Deflects the Snow from Our Area. The ONLY Time It Doesn't Work...is When PNM is Late on Paying Their Nuclear Power Plant Bill!

They must be REALLY late This Month.

Cloudcroft snow update

From: GARY SHEPPARD
Steve,
Just went out and measured, we're up to 7" here in Cloudcroft, and no signs of any let up. I think these are some of the biggest flakes I've ever seen!  My wife just called me from Alamogordo, to tell me it snowing there too!  And she said it's not just flurries...real snow in the desert!  I just hope everone drives safely.  Alamogordo drivers, in particular are not used to these kind of conditions, like we are.  I always have faith in your reports, and I think you might be right(again) about 1-2 ft.  Looks like Ski Cloudcroft might finally get to open!
Thanks again for your accurate warnings,
Gary in Cloudcroft
