Roswell Balloon Rally

 

The Twenty Fourth Annual Old Timers Balloon Rally will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 7th and 8th, 2011.  About fifty balloons, pilots and crews are coming to Roswell from throughout the Southwest. Inflation of the balloons will be at the Russ Dekay/Wool Bowl Soccer Complex, West of the Wool Bowl Stadium about 6:30 AM both days. 

Friday May 6th, several balloons will be inflating and taking off from some local schools around 7 AM.

Saturday evening, May 7th about 7:45 PM the Old Timers will be joining forces with the Roswell High School Band in a Fire Concert/Balloon Glow at the Russ Dekay/Wool Bowl Soccer Complex.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Roswell High School Band. Propane provided by AWC/Cortez Gas of Roswell. The band will play a concert and the BTU's (Balloon Baskets with Burners) will accompany them. Weather permitting some balloons may inflate for a balloon glow.

Spectators are encouraged to see these beautiful balloons and visit with the Pilots, Crews and Sponsors.  Bring your Camera. Admission to the morning launches is FREE.  Commemorative T-Shirts and special edition 24th commemorative Old Timers Rally Pins will be on sale. Parking is available at the Wool Bowl Parking lot.  

Sponsorships are available. The $250 local sponsorship fee entitles the sponsor to two balloon rides, one T-shirt, one pin and invites to all the festivities for the weekend as well as a basket banner to be flown on the balloon. The sponsor fee for Commercial (Logo) balloons is $500.
