Congratulations on the new job. Many people in the viewing audience are
applauding loudly. Good luck! We hope that you continue to find
Albuquerque a cool place to live and stay at KOB in this position for
at least the next 20 years..... Reporting ugly news stories ain't much
fun. But you do it well. You have a great and natural personality, with
a fantastic smile..... Stay on the job & be confident that many people
are very pleased....

Sincerely,

Derek Mathews, & family

Fundraising for Joy Junction

Steve,

My name is Erika and I am contacting you on behalf of Thomason Stone Supply, a local bead store here in Albuquerque.  We, along with our neighboring businesses: Bridal Elegance by Darlene, MVD Express, and Ultimate Car and Truck Accessories have been raising money for Joy Junction this past month by collecting donations, selling raffle tickets and having a silent auction.  Well, all of that comes to a close this Saturday, and we would like to make it as big and as special an event as possible, especially since it is going to such a good cause here in our own Albuquerque community.  There are some very nice raffle and auction items donated by local businesses, and we will also be having a balloon artist stopping by to make balloon sculptures and entertain us here at the closing event.

We are located at 4100 Menaul Blvd. NE between Carlisle and Washington.  Also, please feel free to check out our website: www.thomasonstonesupply.com.   The event  is this Saturday and it runs from  9 am-4pm.  At 4pm we will be doing the raffle drawing and calling a close to the silent auction.

Thank you so much for your time, we hope to see you on Saturday!

Erika

Taos Festival of Trees/Wreaths

Taos’ Annual Festival of Trees and Wreaths
Helps Those Who Help Others

The annual Festival of Trees and Wreaths in Taos wraps up community giving and support of local non-profits all in one festive, enchanting evening. The Festival of Trees and Wreaths in Taos – when area businesses decorate wreaths and trees in support of a favorite local nonprofit organization - is Friday, Dec. 3 from 6-9 p.m., at El Monte Sagrado Resort and Spa on E. Kit Carson Road.

The event – now in its 10th year – has raised more than $200,000 to benefit local non-profits. This year's goal is $30,000.

Decorated trees and wreaths are up for bid through Friday, closing during the night of the festival at 8 p.m. Winning bidders can either keep the tree or wreath or donate it to Community Against Violence, which will see that it goes to a needy family in the Taos area.

The party features hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, and entertainment by Jimmy Stadler. Admission is $20 per adult; children are free. All admission proceeds go to the Museum Association of Taos, which uses the money for its educational programs.

Madrid Christmas Parade/Open House

I know you're the Grand Marshall for the parade in Ruidoso Saturday. Have a blast! Tom Joles will be the Grand Marshall for the Madrid parade Saturday at 4PM.

This is the kick-off for the 28th annual (can hardly believe it's been 28 years!!!) Christmas Open House in Madrid. Festivities go on every weekend prior to Christmas, along with Santa, cocoa, candies, cookies, music, etc. Leisurely, "laid back cool" shopping in "New Mexico's Christmas Town". The Secretary of State gave us that designation. We're so proud!!! If you could announce this, we would be ever so grateful as always.

I've been impressed with your riding these cold mornings. My husband rides into Albuquerque almost every work morning from Cedar Crest. But, I wimp out and haven't been riding up to my store in Madrid!!!!!!!!    And, I've been waiting for you to come by to pick up your silver Kokopelli on a motorcycle pin - for extra good luck.

Happy Trails to you and to your family. I hope you have an absolutely joyous holiday season!

Thanks.

Festival of Lights Parade

Mr. Stucker
My daughter, Jara Lawrence, is a big fan of yours.  She is 8 and is in the third grade in Ruidoso.  She watches you every morning while she's waiting to go to school.  She saw you this past October at the Balloon Fiesta and she is very excited to see you this Saturday in Ruidoso at the Festival of Lights Parade.  She is such a big fan that she would rather miss a family member's wedding in order to see you at the parade as Grand Marshall!
Sincerely
Lynn Lawrence

Aww Lynn, That is SO sweet!   I hate for her to miss a wedding though.  If you'll get me a street mailing address, I'll be happy to send her an autographed photo.  Not sure what the set up will be at the parade, but I'd love to make plans to meet her so we can take a picture together, if you'd like.   We are planning to be at the starting point of the parade about 4:30 if you want to bring her by. That should give you time to get the shot, then find a spot along the route by the start time of 5:30. Please give her a big hug for me.

God bless,

ss

Santa Fe Christmas Tree Lighting

Hi Steve!

Well, it's time for our last state Christmas tree lighting, so I hope you will be so kind as to mention it on your program.  It's this Friday, Dec. 3, 5:00 pm at the west side of the State Capitol - with the usual goodies:  homemade Christmas cookies, hot apple cider, Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving on their vintage firetruck, Santa Fe High School choir and the Gov. and Mrs. Richardson lighting the tree.  I know this is the same night as the big lighting in Alb. in Old Town - but would really appreciate a mention or two from you!  Thanks so much, Steve -

Ruidoso

Steve,

We are headed to Ruidoso this weekend from Edgewood.  I lived in that area almost 20 years and love going back for the Christmas light parade as does my husband (who never got to live there).  We are looking forward to seeing you at the head of the parade (after all the police cars that is).  Hope you and your family have a great time in my favorite “village”.

CONGRATULATIONS

Hi Antoinette

CONGRATULATIONS on your Morning Anchor position!

I enjoyed the relaxed chemistry between Marla and Steve ... and when other current Anchors sat-it for Marla, YOU were the only one we felt had that same playful chemistry that made watching the KOB morning show interesting, informative and FUN!  I was really hoping you would be the individual to fill that slot!

You truly are a 'notch above' in your professionalism and reporting!!  ...but it's refreshing to see you are also able to hold your own and keep Steve under control.. ha ha.

Again, congratulations and THANK YOU! .. because KOB selected you to Anchor the Morning Show with Steve, we will continue watching every morning!

Sincerely,
Lucy

COLD Morning!

COMMENT: Hey Steve, -7 in La Cueva right now. Yep, pretty cold in this neck of the woods. I call it Frosty Acres

Some folks say I am nuts for living up here. Not nearly as nuts as a guy that rides a scooter to work when it is 20 degrees.

Did that as a kid cause I had to, but you and I are about the same age.  Supposed to be wiser...........
