Bird Show & Training
Sining In the Rain
That's why we like watching you guys. You always do a great job
reporting on the news but there is always something fun and interesting
going on. Never a dull moment! None of the other stations would be
singing on air! They are just too dull. Keep having fun and keep up the
good work.
Have a great vacation Steve!
Have a great weekend Marla!
Take care, A Salazar.

Tiny Kittens Need Foster Home!
Steve, the woman who took the kittens was taking them until this week when she was leaving town. Then another woman was taking them, but now one of her foster kittens has ringworm, so we don't want to expose these guys to that. Could you put it on your blog for a temporary foster? I think they are about 5 weeks old now, completely weaned. They just need a little more time in a foster before adoption. There are 3, easy to take care of, but need human interaction/socialization. Ginger
I have emailed the current foster and asked for pictures.

Dear Steve,
School is just right around the corner for us here in Farmington and one
of the things I look forward to the most is getting ready for the day
with you! I turn on the morning news as my husband and I are getting
ready and we listen and watch when we can to you and Marla Tellez. I
appreciate your humor, your platitudes, your pets, and your endearing
personality. The one aspect I appreciate the most is at the end of the
newscast is when you sign off telling viewers to have a nice day and
'may God bless'. That particular phrase has gotten me through all kinds
of days--good and bad. I have always wanted to let you know. Keep up
doing the good work and isn't it amazing how something so simple and
plainly said can mean so much!
Thank you.

encouraging note! I am blessed beyond any explanation by wonderful,
kind people like you. May God bless....ss
Lost Dog
We need your help!! A car wrecked into our backyard wall on Friday and scared our dogs enough to jump over 3 walls. One of our dogs is still missing and I have posted an ad in the Newspaper, craigslist and my face book page with no luck. Not to mention putting up at least close to 200 flyers. Can you please do a story requesting public's assistance in getting the dog back? He is the nicest pit bull you'll ever meet and we want to avoid him being in the hands of someone who will make him a fighting dog. He takes anxiety medication and medication for his ears and he has not taken them since Friday.
story in front of our damaged wall but anything you can do we will be grateful for!
His name is Droopy and he is a black pit bull (male) with white on his nose and neck. He is approximately 70 pounds with great muscle tone. He loves the water and is extremely scared of loud noises. He was lost in the South Valley area on Arenal between Coors and Unser, but could be anywhere by now.
We know if anyone can get the word out, it would be you! Please help us get our dog back!
Please let me know if you can do anything and I thank you for anything you can do.
Thank you!

SUMMER PET ADOPTATHON AUG 7
NAME: Paul Caster
CITY: Albuquerque
COMMENT: Steve, we know you are a pet supporter...even days other than Fridays. We watch all the time and envy you the ability to take your pups to work. The City of Albuquerque is hosting an event we'd like to make you aware of and hope you can share with others. The Hawaiian Summer Adoptathon will take place at the Westside Animal Shelter at 11800 Sunset Gardens SW (98th and Central area) on 7 August from 10 AM to 2 PM. We're trying to adopt out as many dogs, cats, bunnies, and maybe even snakes by that time as we can to ease the overcrowding in our shelters. Please encourage everyone you can to come out and find their new best friend...and have a free hotdog, soda, and get their face painted! The APD will have their K-9 unit out there for demonstrations too. Thanks for all you do for our pets...and trying to get the weather to cooperate!

COMMENT: Steve ~ I am from Bangor Maine and have had my share of run in's with Moose. A moose is a moose is a moose. There are no meeces or mices. One is a moose, two are a pair of moose, three is a small herd and a hundred is a large herd. A male moose is a bull, a female is a cow (although I wouldn't call her that to her face!) and a baby is a yearling. They have a brain about the size of a walnut. They weigh in between less than 1000# to a real healthy 2500#. Should one be standing in the middle of the road, do not challenge it, you will loose. Some fun facts: Order;Artiodactyla, Family; Cervidae, Subfamily; Capreolinae, Species; Alces alces. They are the largest member of the deer family. They were named by the Algonquin Indians:Moosewa which means "twig eater". And last but not least, only bull moose have antlers which they loose after mating season, and grow back in 5 to 8 months. Now you know more useless information about Moose than you ever wanted to know!!! I enjoy you and Marla in the morning. Rick

Moose in Colorado?
Viewer James Bunsen sent me a nice photo of a young moose taken near
Durango. I wasn't aware we had them in our area. Several viewers say
it's true:
"Steve, my husband, who is retired Chief RF Engineer from Knme, says
that once while at a translator site, saw a Moose in Northern New
mexico... He, my husband is asleep, so not sure exactly where it
was...."
Donna Fulbright Ramp
Steve, my son tells me DOW started a few small herds in Colo. about ten
years ago, last year was their first moose hunt.
Darryl Hernandez
Yeah, you are right. There are moose in Colorado. There aren't too many.
They are protected in Colorado. My brother lives north of Denver and has
seen them in the mountains. A buddy and I also saw a wolverine in the
high mountains in northern New Mexico near the Colorado border about 8
years ago while hiking. We told a few people but they don't believe us.
Have fun, A Salazar.
HEY STEVE, YOU ARE SO PROFICIENT IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. YOU WERE
TALKING ABOUT "MOOSE". ISN'T THE PLURAL FOR "MOOSE" IS "MEESE". JUST
LIKE "GOOSE". THE PLURAL IS "GEESE"? (JUST Kidding) Phil Gilstrap/
