Weather report complaint/reply

Dear Mr. Stucker,
I'm not one to complain unnecessarily, but it is a bit frustrating when one is trying to get accurate weather data and you flash numbers on the screen with such rapidity that it is difficult to focus. I have been a loyal KOB watcher for over 35 years and would like to continue to watch the weather on your channel. Please slow your pace down, as others do on other channels. I have called in the past without results.

Sincerely,
Jim Root

Thanks for the note....and the kind comments.  I'll TRY to slow down...but its honestly very difficult. We have the largest coverage area of any market in the nation, and have to get thru a lot of info in a very short time.....They are constantly 'in my ear" telling me to hurry up!  What I normally suggest, is for people to not try and take in all the numbers, but to look for "groupings"  I.e.: 50's & 60's.....as opposed to exact numbers for each location.  The temperature "range" is much more important than specific numbers...because the "high" or "low" you see on the map only represents one hour of the day...at either the highest or lowest points.   That said, I will do my best to be so fast on the clicker button.   God bless....ss

I do love you Steve. You represent the purest form of friendly, humorous, intelligent, thoughtful, lively, pleasant and dedicated reporting of the weather that's aired in New Mexico, perhaps nationwide. Keep up the great work, and your tireless love of animals.

Jim

Thanks again Mr. Root for your kindness and support....ss

Edgewood snow

I'm sure you're hearing from everyone, but in Edgewood it's been piling up at the rate of an inch/hour. At noon we were up to 6" one-half mile south of I-40.

Just measured 7" and it's still snowing.  I must have measured incorrectly earlier.  Could it really have snowed 4" more in 3 hours!?

Snow In Placitas

Steve,

It started snowing here in Placitas at 8:45AM.  No rain, just snow. Not heavy (yet, at least), but not light either. Visibility is not good. I can see the neighbor's house behind us ( 1 acre away) but nothing beyond that.

By the way, my hubby didn't believe it was actually going to snow in Albuquerque during daylight hours. He said that you just said "today", not giving a time.  He took this to mean late, being the optomistic golfoholic that his is! This is his golf afternoon and his foursome has a tee time @ 11:30 at the UNM course.  Too funny!

Hello from the Great Metropolis of Weed!

I think God pushed the replay button, and we're singing the Dolly Parton song "Here You Come Again."  We have 3" so far, and it's still snowing.

Attached is a picture taken from the Weed bridge on August 31, 2006.  This is what we're looking forward to this coming Spring!

Warmest (and I mean that literally!) Regards,
