March Forth on March 4th

From: Lucia Cies, M.D.
You might be interested to know that March 4th was celebrated as a holiday at my high school in the 60's.  The students who studied ancient Greek learned the verb "exalamo"  which meant "to march forth".  So every year on March 4th the Greek class would go out for a meal at a Greek restaurant and celebrate Exalamo day.  So I suggest you have some Baklava today and celebrate ancient Greek!

I didn't get to go to the party bvecause I studied Latin and not Greek.  Must be sour grapes that I remember this trivia!
