Stuckers checking in

We had a nice, Very active day.  Rose & Steph went shopping, while I took the other girls on a Trail ride at Grindstone stables up into the mountains, above the lake. We drove up a fantastic road to Ski Apache, and took in the McGary Gallery.  We had dinner at Michelinas, and then went over to Funtrackers to race go carts..  I even caught a good nap on the deck in between.  Going to the track at Ruidoso Downs this afternoon, to present the winner of the featured race.  Still loving this area, the town and the people! For more pictures of our adventures here, go to my Facebook page.  God bless....ss

Addressing the President?

-------------------------------------------
Steve,
Can you explain, or find out, why all previous presidents have been
addressed as President (Name), and President Obama is being addressed in the
news as "Mr. Obama ?" An on the air explanation would be excellent.
I can not find any leads on this inigma.
Thank you.
Glenn Armour

 Glenn,

To my knowledge and experience, President Obama is not being addressed any differently (by News/Press Professionals) that others in his office.  Standard procedure with the Press/News is normally to refer to a President as "President such & such" the first mention in a story, then "Mr. such and such" if his/her name is used a second time in the same story.  I don't set these standards, the Associated Press does.  I myself always refer to a sitting President as President, not Mister.  You'd have to check with someone much higher up in the food chain than me to find more about this.  By the way, this question/complaint comes with Every President, almost always from those of HIS/HER party, who feel their person is being slighted.  The other main complaint with Any President, comes from those of the Opposite Party, who feel the Press is not asking any tough questions.   I'm on vacation this week, but thought I'd take he time to answer you right away.  I hope this helps.  May God bless.....ss

A Bear Woke Me Up....sort of!

Sound asleep at midnight, when 12 year old Georgi runs in shouting "Dad, there's a BEAR in the road, a Bear in the road".  I  step out onto the deck to be greeted by a Full Moon peaking through the tall pines. One of the most beautiful sights we've seen. Tried to get a picture but my inexpensive instamatic won't cooperate!  I'll post the pic anyway, and you can just IMAGINE how gorgeous it was! No bear anywhere in sight.  Georgi SWEARS she saw him.  I told her she was so loud, she probably scared him all the way to Cloudcroft!  After a great nights sleep, Georgi was vindicated.  The contents of a nearby dumpster were spread all over the ground...proof that there indeed had been a bear....OR that I was sleep walking while very hungry!   We WERE greeted by two other visitors right off our deck this morning! (see pic) Off for more adventures today....God bless....ss

Steve's Vacation Update....

From beautiful Downtown Ruidoso NM!  I can't believe it has taken me 25 years to get here.  I don't know why, but we've always headed North for mountains.  This place is AWESOME!  The scenery, the wildlife, the shops, restaurants and PEOPLE are Amazing.
Thanks to Becky, Steve and Sandi at the Chamber of Commerce for a wonderful welcome.  We are staying at an incredible home, with fireplaces, a huge deck right on the mountain slope, nice views...and Internet!  We've seen dozens of deer, and residents report seeing Huge 12-13 Point Bull Elk, and some bear.  I'll send along some photos as time allows.  Above are shots of 1. My welcome!  2. Inn of Mountain Gods Lake 3.  A nearby Trail. Gotta go explore some more!   God bless.....ss

Lori Schaffer Ormsby sez hello

Lori sent you a message.
Subject: missing Abq.
"Steve,  My husband is in the military and we used to live in Albuquerque from 2003-2007.  I watched you and Monica every morning.  I was sad to see Monica move on, but understood her decision to do something else.  Anyway, I live near Newport News, VA now and still listen to Jackie, Tony, & Donnie via the internet sometimes because I miss NM and our local morning radio show stinks.  I saw your comment to their status and thought, "Steve Stucker!  Gosh, how I miss him and his dogs."  The weather guy here from Norfolk just doesn't have your style.  Do you still take the dogs in on Fridays?  I hope so.  Well, I just wanted to say "Hi" and let you know that you are well liked and missed."
